I finally got around to finishing this game (Red Dead Redemption 2).  I can't get over how gorgeous it is.  What a work of art.

I was looking at a small wispy cloud today. Over the course of 20 seconds, it dissipated. I watched it slowly (or quickly.. it was less than a minute after all) drift apart, the feathery sections fading until there was nothing left but the blue sky.

I was mesmerized. I tried to extract meaningful life lessons out of the experience about impermanence and living in the present.  I hope some of it stuck with me.

Excerpt from The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde:

“You may fancy yourself safe, and think yourself strong. But a chance tone of colour in a room or a morning sky, a particular perfume that you had once loved and that brings subtle memories with it, a line from a forgotten poem that you had come across again, a cadence from a piece of music that you had ceased to play—I tell you, Dorian, that it is on things like these that our lives depend.”

Hostetter Fire Road Loop

This is the first time I tried hiking 2 days in a row in a single weekend.  I thought my old-man knees wouldn't be able to handle it but I was wrong and I am pleasantly surprised.

La Tuna Canyon Loop Trail

I am glad I am finding a new consistent activity.  I get to listen to podcasts for hours at a time, practice photography, and get exercise too.  This makes me happy.
